Paul George says Pacers teammates have ‘no winning pride’

Paul George gave it his all Tuesday night against the Timberwolves, scoring 37 points, rebounding seven balls and coming away with four steals. The effort wasn’t enough against a Timberwolves team that, let’s face it, isn’t that great.

Not only did the Pacers lose, but they lost a close game (115-114) despite having a decent lead late in the fourth quarter. They also had the home-court advantage, which was just another factor that played into George’s frustration afterward.

“At this point in the season, you don’t have games like this, being up four with under a minute and letting an opponent come in and beat you, especially a young team,” George Cheap Dolphins Jerseys told reporters after the game. “You don’t give that up. It’s a very frustrating loss.”

The Mavericks entered the game last in the NBA in scoring (98.4 points per game) and they didn’t help their stats in an ugly 100-78 loss to the Raptors in Toronto. Dallas scored Cheap Eagles Jerseys only 12 points in the fourth quarter, and 32 total points in the second half.

Trail Blazers (29-36) at Pelicans (26-40), 8 p.m. ET The Blazers’ high-scoring backcourt of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum have powered the team to five wins in six games as they fight to reach the eighth spot in the West. The Pelicans are heading in the opposite direction, having lost six of nine games since adding DeMarcus Cousins in a trade at the All-Star break.

Andrew Bogut, 76ers reportedly agree to buyout; move to Cavs next?

Andrew Bogut and the 76ers have reportedly agreed to a buyout, potentially setting the veteran center up for a move to Cleveland.

The Vertical reported Bogut and the 76ers have reached an agreement, leaving the Australian big man to evaluate his next step. ESPN.com reported earlier Monday that the Cheap College Basketball Jerseys Cavaliers are the favorite to sign Bogut.

“If you really want to get technical with it, it’s bullying,” Pamela McGee said. “We all have little jokes and stuff. But when you continue to pick on just one person — as his career is resurrecting — there’s nothing to it but bullying. And it’s unacceptable. You can’t allow someone to continue to do this who represents TNT and the NBA. He is a representative of TNT and the NBA. Broadcasters are held to a higher authority. He should lose his job.

“… He is bullying men of color. When you bully men of color who play your same position … we as a society have to stop condoning ignorant behavior. And, yes, as African-Americans, we have always had individuals who will sell out their communities for two barrels of rum. This is straight-up black-on-black oppression.”
Pamela McGee had more to say in the story, but her message is clear: Shaq is a bully, and should be fired.

As for O’Neal, he says now that “Mama has spoken,” he vows never to mention Cheap Cycling Jerseys McGee’s name again.

In Mark Cuban’s mind, Russell Westbrook is not an MVP candidate

Mark Cuban has some kind of thing for Russell Westbrook the Mavericks owner never misses a chance to knock the Thunder guard down a few pegs.

According to pretty much everybody, Westbrook is the second favorite to win this season’s NBA MVP award. Listed at +120 odds at Bovada, Westbrook is behind only James Harden, the odds-on favorite at -150 (via Odds Shark).

According to Cuban, though, Westbrook is not even an MVP candidate, let alone a favorite.

Leonard was fouled a few seconds after that, following a LaMarcus Aldridge block. Leonard hit both free throws to put the Spurs up by four.

The Rockets closed to within a bucket with 10 seconds left, then opted to not foul, and San Antonio was able to dribble out the clock. Leonard was nearly called for an eight-second violation in the backcourt, but he managed to throw the ball to Aldridge to secure a 112-110 win.

Leonard isn’t out of the NBA MVP race just yet, and he’s closing out the season strong. Monday, he had 39 points, six rebounds and five assists. Russell Westbrook, LeBron James and James Harden have another competitor.

Essentially, the Big Diesel says Durant can’t say anything until he wins a title. Until then, he’s just another whiny NBA player.

Moreover, Miller has proven to be a very good defensive coach, but his offense is seen as relatively unimaginative. The fact that he’s been unable to get the Wildcats over the Final Four hump is another downside.

“He is obviously a smart basketball guy, but he has some New York Yankees Cheap Jerseys of the hallmarks of guys who have not done well in the NBA,” one scout said. “With the right team, he might have some New England Patriots Cheap Jerseys success. But he’s not a sure thing at all.”

Brooklyn Nets to honor rapper Notorious B.I.G. on 20th anniversary of his death

“The greatest rapper of all time died on March 9th.”

Those are the words of rapper Canibus, uttered on “Second Round Knockout,” his famous 1998 diss record aimed at LL Cool J. They’re a nod to the late, great Notorious B.I.G., who was killed in Los Angeles the year before.

Nearly two decades later, people are still paying homage to Biggie Smalls.

Sunday, the Nets will host #NetsBiggieNight, a celebration of Biggie’s life and music, to coincide with the 20-year anniversary of the Brooklyn native’s death, according to NBC New York.

Biggie’s mother, Voletta Wallace, along with his friend and Bad Boy Records label head Sean “Diddy” Combs, will be in attendance at Barclay’s Center. The matchup against the Knicks will feature Biggie’s tunes throughout the game, and the Nets’ cheerleaders have a special performance planned.

Anthony Davis added 24 points and 15 rebounds for New Orleans, which Vancouver Canucks Cheap Jerseys has won three of its past four but still sit 28-41 on the season

Despite sustaining a sprained left foot, John Wall dished out a career-high 20 assists to Website For Cheap Jerseys go with 14 points as the Wizards beat the Bulls, 112-107. With the win, Washington is now 3 1/2 games behind the Cavaliers for the top seed in the East.

The Pistons: Toronto outscored Detroit 27-9 in the fourth quarter to gain momentum in a game which at one time appeared to be out of reach. The Pistons missed their final 10 shots of the game in the 82-75 defeat. Marcus Morris was just 1 of 13 from the floor wit three points in 35 minutes.

Cavaliers (45-22) at Clippers (40-29), 8:30 p.m. ET — The defending champions kick off a four-game road trip against Blake Griffin, Chris Paul and the Clippers. LA needs a win to keep the fifth seed in the West while the Cavs look to maintain their Eastern Conference lead over the Celtics.

MLB Futures Game 2017: Rosters, TV coverage, players to watch

The 2017 MLB All-Star Weekend will begin with the SiriusXM Futures Game on Sunday, July 9, at Marlins Park in Miami.

Hayward isn’t an isolation-heavy player, though. Instead, he scores 28.6 percent of his points in the pick-and-roll, where he ranked in the 87.1 percentile with 0.98 points per possession last season. In addition to improving his finishing at the rim, Hayward’s success in the pick-and-roll is mainly due to him being one of the better pull-up shooters in the NBA. He converted 41.1 percent of his 2-point pull-ups and 41.3 percent of his 3-point pull-ups last season. His effective field goal Cheap Team Soccer Jerseys percentage of 47.0 in those situations was comparable to a number of other All-Stars such as Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, Kyrie Irving and Kemba Walker.

That means the Celtics would have two of the best pick-and-roll scorers in the NBA, both of whom are comfortable and capable scorers without the ball in their hands, paired with a highly skilled big man who can pop and roll. As long as they could figure out the balance of who attacks when, the offense has the mechanics to work well.

Hayward’s willingness to play power forward, where he logged 30 percent of his minutes last season, only adds to his value. A lineup of Thomas, Bradley, Crowder/Jaylen Brown, Hayward and Horford, for example, would give them shooting at every position and enough playmaking to take whatever the defense gives them. They’d be able to run a pick-and-roll with Thomas and Horford on one possession, only to then turn Thomas into a shooter while Hayward and Horford take center stage.

The Celtics could even run pick-and-rolls with Thomas and Hayward given Hayward’s ability to pop to the perimeter and attack smaller defenders on the block.

Henke is somewhat diffident on whether he belongs in Cooperstown.

For the Pelicans, making a large, long-term commitment to Holiday comes with risk. He averaged 15.4 points and 7.3 assists last season, but struggled with injuries in his first three seasons in New Orleans, playing 139 of 246 games from 2013-16.

But letting Holiday walk would leave the Pels with few options to improve the Cheap Soccer Jerseys Size Xxl roster, and the team’s brain trust — especially general manager Dell Demps and coach Alvin Gentry — are under pressure to get back to the playoffs in the wake of last February’s Cheap Softball Jerseys blockbuster DeMarcus Cousins deal. Holiday is the priority, and the Pelicans have some reason for confidence.

He admits that he almost certainly would have played a few more years had he not won a World Series ring with the Blue Jays in 1992. That’s what everyone plays for, after all.

“If we hadn’t won it, I might be coaching somewhere trying to get that ring in,” Henke said.

Henke is somewhat diffident on whether he belongs in Cooperstown.

“I don’t know,” Henke said. “I did the best I could when I played. I didn’t cheat, I didn’t use anything. I did it on natural ability. I worked hard every day. I think I represented the game.”

He added, “Tony La Russa, somebody asked him if I deserve to be in and he said, ‘Absolutely. Tom had everything you want in a Hall of Famer — longevity, helped the team win, represented the game the way it was supposed to be represented.’ I don’t know. I don’t dwell on stuff like that. It’s out of my control. Is 311 saves good enough? I don’t know.”

But Henke said he hasn’t rued his decision to walk away from baseball when he did. He’s maintained some involvement with the game, attending Cardinals fantasy camps, and said he’s happy to do things with the Blue Jays and Rangers when asked. He remains something of a celebrity every time he goes north of the U.S. border.

Expectations were sky-high for Story after his impressive debut last year

That’s strengthened the bargaining position of the Pelicans once free agency opens this weekend. The New Orleans brass remains concerned that Holiday fully intends to test the market in the coming days, and that he might have already convinced himself that he should be elsewhere. But the market has shifted.

“They want to keep him,” one league executive said. “They’re going to do all that they can to keep him. But the way things have played out, there is not as much pressure on them, once they roll out the red carpet for him.”

The Pelicans don’t have cap space, but they can offer Holiday a max deal worth five years and about $170 million. Naturally, they don’t want to go that high, and the price tag could ultimately decide Holiday’s future. He is expected to begin talks with a max offer, however, and that would be a contract that would weigh heavily on the Pelicans going forward.

But circumstances have changed for some of the Pelicans’ competitors. Brooklyn had interest in bringing in Holiday, but that was before the trade that landed them D’Angelo Russell. The Bulls were also said to be interested, but that was before they began their rebuilding in earnest with the Jimmy Butler trade. The Knicks have long been interested in Holiday, but sources say he would only leave New Orleans for a playoff-ready team. The Knicks certainly do not qualify.

Why he’s here: Expectations were sky-high for Story after his impressive debut last year, when he looked to be neck-and-neck with Corey Seager in the NL ROY race before an injury ended his season early. He hasn’t quite lived up to those expectations thus far, posting mostly pedestrian numbers while playing in one of the best hitter’s parks in the game. He hasn’t been bad, per se — he’s dealt with injuries this year, too — but considering what he showed last year, it’s hard not to be disappointed with the numbers he’s put up in the first half.

What did he show James?

The Warriors also have another option up their sleeve: Durant as the ball handler and Curry as the screener in a 3-1 pick-and-roll, similar to what the Cavaliers run with James and Irving. Curry is a better screener than Durant, and Durant is one of the best pick-and-roll scorers in the NBA. He can pull-up from the perimeter and midrange like he’s a taller version of Curry, and he finish Cheap Eagles Jerseys at the basket with the best of them. He’s also a gifted passer for his height, so he easily see over defenders and find Curry popping to the 3-point line if teams double him when he turns the corner.

Curry isn’t the roller Green and Durant are, but teams have no idea how to defend him when he’s used as a screener.

“I thought he saw LeBron went out and he wanted to put the team on his shoulders and on his back and let the team ride him until LeBron got back,” Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue said. “He did that.”

What did he show James?

“Nothing,” James said with a smile. “Same thing I’ve been saying since I got here. I’ve been saying he’s a special kid and a special talent. As the stakes get higher and higher, his game gets higher and higher. It’s not a surprise.”

Irving scored nine points over that crucial stretch, and Cleveland trailed 57-47 at halftime — the same 10-point margin as when James left.

“The importance of Game 4, especially the way we came out in Game 3,” Irving started before finishing what he was thinking during that stretch. “In the back of my mind I’m saying to myself, ‘They cannot tie up the series.'”

Irving then took over with his dominant 21-point third quarter. That went well with James, who finished with 24 points in the second half.

the Nats should run away with the National League East

Harper finished the night 3 for 5 with the two homers, a double and four RBIs. As for participating in next week’s Home Run Derby, Harper said, “No chance.”

Scherzer, who struck out at least 12 batters in a game for the third time this season, pleaded with Nationals manager Dusty Baker to go out for the eighth inning, but Baker patted his ace on the back and shook his hand before turning things over to the Nats bullpen.

Just like the Astros in the American League, the Nationals bullpen is a weakness, and reliever Enny Romero allowed a pair of runs in the eighth, including a home run by Tommy Pham.

With All-Stars like Harper and Scherzer, as well as Daniel Murphy and Ryan Zimmerman, the Nats should run away with the National League East – they hold a 7 1/2 game lead over the Braves after the first weekend of July.

But if the Nats hope to make a deep run in Cheap Queensland Jerseys October, they’ll likely have to add a reliable arm or two in the bullpen.

Voluntary offseason workout programs are intended to provide training, teaching and physical conditioning for players.

As per Article 21 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, each club’s official, voluntary nine-week offseason program is conducted in three phases:

— Phase One consists of the first two weeks of the program with activities limited to strength and conditioning and physical rehabilitation only.

— Phase Two consists of the next three weeks of the program. On-field workouts may include individual player instruction and drills as well as team practice conducted on a “separates” basis. No live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills are permitted.

— Phase Three consists of the next four weeks of the program. Teams may conduct a total of 10 days of organized team practice activity, or “OTAs”. No live contact is permitted, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are permitted.

This Cavs core can’t match the Warriors in terms of overall wins

It feels like years ago at this point, but after Cleveland lost seven of its last 11 games in the regular season and handed the No. 1 seed to the Celtics, there was serious concern about the Cavs overcoming inconsistent play and porous defense and escaping the Eastern Conference playoffs. So much for that.

This Cavs core can’t match the Warriors in terms of overall wins, but Cleveland has absolutely torched the East when playoff time arrives with six sweeps in its last three playoff trips behind the reliable excellence of LeBron James (more on him later).

You’ll never get him to admit it, but for Durant here in the last five-plus weeks, things have gotten mighty easy. Now, after Golden State’s 129-115 win over San Antonio, he has helped the Warriors back to their third-straight Finals appearance.

That, after all, is why he opted to bolt the Thunder and sign with Cheap Bruins Jerseys the Warriors 10 months ago following a grueling postseason that was cut short by a seven-game series loss to those same Warriors in the West finals. He wanted to participate in the Finals for just the second time in his career, and he wanted to get a taste of the Warriors’ magic, letting the Golden State offense remind him just how easy the game can be.

Maybe that, as many suggested when Durant signed with the Warriors (and are still suggesting now), makes Durant a certain kind of sniveler and coward, hopping on the frontrunner’s engine while it’s already chugging along. He has heard plenty of that chatter. But the trip to the Finals is now a certainty, and that should make all the knocks he has suffered this year well worth the aggravation.
